Kennedy Awarded One Year, $1 Million


Sabre forward Tim Kennedy has been awarded a one-year, $1 million salary for the 2010-2011 season by an arbitrator, WGR 550's Paul Hamilton has learned. The Sabres now have 48 hours to accept that contract for Kennedy or decline the number. If they do not accept the arbitrator's decision, Kennedy would become a free agent.

Forward Tim Kennedy and the Buffalo Sabres had an arbitration hearing Tuesday and are awaiting the decision.  Kennedy made $635,000 last season while scoring 10 goals and notched 17 assists .  Once the ruling is announced, the Sabres have 48 hours to sign Kennedy or else he will become an unrestricted free agent.

Players Association Files Grievance for Kovalchuk Contract


The NHL Players Association has filed a grievance on behalf of free agent forward Ilya Kovalchuk. The PA is disputing a ruling by the National Hockey league. Last week, the league nullified the New Jersey Devils' 17-year, $102 million contract given to Kovalchuk. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly stated that the contract circumvented the NHL salary cap.

Darcy Regier Talks About Pat Kaleta and the Off-Season


Sabres GM Darcy Regier joined Mike Schopp and the Bulldog following the announcement that Pat Kaleta has agreed to a 2-year contract Wednesday afternoon. Regier also updated fans on the team's offseason plans and talked about the Ilya Kovalchuk story.

Sabres release variable pricing plan


The Buffalo Sabres announced today that the team has capped the number of season tickets for the 2010-2011 season at 14,825 and had a renewal rate of 98% from last year.
